The story lacked intensity, memorable conflicts, or captivating moments to hold my interest. The plot felt uninspiring. The characters were bland, and there was a lack of chemistry between the protagonists, likely due in part to Emily's socially awkward nature. The prose is superb, though it wasn’t enough to make up for the other aspects for me. I should have DNF’d it.
