This is my favorite book in the Clecanian series! I loved Maxu, but something about this book just grabs me. There’s a delicious slow burn, a tortured and broody king who just wants to be loved, and danger lurking in the shadows. This installment in the series has it all.
Be aware that our MMC does stalk the FMC for almost the majority of the book. But I will say, as someone who normally does not enjoy this in my romances I was positively giddy about it here. Victoria Aveline made every trope in this book her b*tch.
