Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros
Did not finish book. Stopped at 22%.
While I did enjoy the first book (no thoughts, just vibes), I just can’t get past how poorly written this book is. The first one was no beacon of literature either, obviously, but this one seems to be even worse (and dare I say, maybe AI?). The structure seems to be just episodic things that happen to Violet, rather than a cohesive plot. And world building, who?
(and I also can’t get over how my copy is so poorly manufactured and Red Tower hasn’t really addressed that, and how Rebecca hasn’t apologized for the disrespect of the Gaelic language she took for this book, everything about this has just been a hot mess. Goes to show that publishers and authors should maybe focus on taking their time to make sure the writing and the physical product is right instead of grinding shit out to feed the capitalist machine).
