The vision was there. 100%. Anna Biller knows how to set a scene & knows how to create atmosphere. Unfortunately, this just lacked some additional editing - the writing itself just wasn't great, the book struggled with putting itself in a certain time period, it does more telling than showing, and it was too long. For a movie though, I think this would have been excellent.
