George is a less that likable character for me. His poor moral fiber made him difficult to believe in. The mystery isn't to complicated. The writing is very well done but I had real problems getting over George over looking the rape and basically being bribed with a job. Plenty of globe trotting to keep the story fresh. It moved a good pace and was entertaining regardless of my issues with the protagonist.
