Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake
3.5
This was a cute read. I had no expectations going into it, I didn't even really know what it was about because I just read about this when I was searching for Books Like (Ransom Rigg's) Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children.
I loved Anna, she was honestly great. Cas was okay, I didn't really like him or hate him... He was just there; Thomas was a fun character at the start but then he said "Girls are bitches" and I started just not paying attention to him at all. Carmel was also an okay character, I was surprised she became a big part of the novel because I really thought we were going to forget about her after Cas heard the story of Anna.
What really turned me off from this book was Anna and Cas' feelings for each other because it still doesn't make sense to me. There were no scenes of them I thought, "oh so that's why they like each other."
But this book really did scare me. I had to read this at daytime or with the light on because I'm a coward like that.
