Elevation by Stephen King

4.0

Didn’t think I’d ever find myself finishing a Stephen King book in just a few short sittings, but here we are. This is an interesting sort of novella, both similar to his other work but also nothing like it. I liked some of the political commentary, but I wish it played more of a role throughout. I kept searching for an allegorical message that I never really found. The ending left me with a feeling of sadness but also of hope, it’s a weird sort of emotion to sort out with a main character in such a predicament. Quick read, good dialogue (to be expected of King), a really interesting and engaging premise. Worth checking out.
