The Water Queen by Jennifer L. Kelly

I love Jennifer's writing style so much. I have been lucky enough to have been on her ARC team since the beginning. I feel horrible that this time around it took me so long to read this novel.

We always get a recap of the previous novel. But it comes through as informational and quick rather than seeming like a recap. I think it helps that the book is told from Ka's POV. It gives it more of the feel that Ka is still trying to sort through everything that has been happening to her.

In this installment, Ka must find and destroy the water stone. She deals with mermaids, mermen, a kraken, and of course her siren aunt. But that is only the beginning. Her relationships get strained and she feels like all hope is lost.

I cannot wait to read the next book. The climax keeps building and building.

Disclaimer: I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review
