I struggled to decide if I liked this book. It was a book that I felt like I should like but ultimately found sort of self indulgent and boring, (but I feel bad about feeling that way...)

Part way through the book I had the thought "this author definitely has their MFA and wants us to know it" and sure enough, when I got to the author bio, "MFA from the New School." Color me surprised.

Clearly a talented writer, but maybe as an elder millennial, I missed the target readership by a few years.
