Funny. Heartbreaking. So much music. My one demerit was that he mostly talks about music made by men and that bums me out, but then he works a lot with Mavis Staples. . . Seriously this is probably in the Top 10 of All Time Best Music Memoirs I've ever read (and I've read a lot). What he has to say about suffering and creativity will stick with me forever.
