Vilest Things by Chloe Gong

Thank you to @sagapressbooks for my print arc of this book and @simon.audio for the audio copy. All thoughts are my own.

This is the second book in the series, and this is one where you want to read the first before picking this one up. Lucky you that they are both out, and you won’t be left waiting after the first book leaves you on a cliffhanger. No such luck for book three though when this book does it again.

I enjoyed being back in the world with Calla and Anton. Their whole enemies to lovers, to enemies, to whatever happens is awesome and while it does get a bit of roller-coaster-y it is fun. I think that we are really building a deep connection between the characters, they do say opposites work best together right?

This book is an easy read with most of the heavy world building taking place in book one. I did miss some of it and wish that this book had a bit of a refresher as it has been a while since I read it and had forgotten some things. I also missed some of the things that happened in the world, they weren’t present in the second. So much so in fact that I wasn’t always sure that they were in the same series.
