Antony and Cleopatra: Third Series by William Shakespeare

5.0

Really love the Arden editions of Shakespeare. The footnotes make them eminently more readable.

My first time reading Antony and Cleopatra. Lots of back and forth, with short scenes across time and space. That to say I'm glad I had this annotated version to help with understanding that, as well as comparisons with Plutarch, whom Shakespeare used as a reference to write this play.

But the real meat of the play are the names' sake, their relationship, and their personalities. There's some breathtaking lines, some laugh out loud moments, and everything in between. A classic piece of literature, theatre, and art. Now I need to read Julius Caesar (I already picked it up, haha).
