April 2022 reread: The first half of this book I was like "OK, maybe I can be rational about an SJM for once and rate this appropriately." And then Lehabah and Hunt and I was crying and feeling things and it's 5 stars ok? I have no shame.

Well damn. Obviously this was a 5 ⭐ book for me. I am SJM trash, and I am not sorry. I LOVED how she tried so so so so hard to flip the script and make this feminist, while poking fun at herself with constant reference to "alphaholes." She didn't quite achieve her goal, but I'll give her points for effort. I will always wish for more body diversity in fantasy, but I doubt I will see it anytime soon. I will imagine Bryce as my fat warrior queen and you can't stop me. All in all, this was a glorious pile of steaming hot garbage, with even more explicit sex talk than her "YA" works, as this one is adult. I didn't know that was possible, but she did it. I loved it. I love Bryce, I love Syrinx, and I love SJM. #sorrynotsorry
