Reading this again as an adult I'm really struck by how much I can relate to Kel. I related to her as a kid but as I have aged and dealt with imposter syndrome, struggling with being a leader, etc, I was just quite amazed.

The final battle felt almost like an afterthought. I think that was the whole point but some more suspense or higher stakes would have been good. 

I love the animal friends helping out throughout the series. Just so good!
