Not at all what I expected. So bizarre, so unhinged, so unnecessarily graphic and yet it worked?? I got emotional about—and weirdly hopeful for—middle age. Miranda July’s books are so life-affirming in ways you didn’t even know you needed until you read them. Making a mental note to read this again and again in my 40s.
