Kiss Me First by Lottie Moggach
3.0
If I were able to give this book star ratings at different points, I would. The first one hundred pages sit around 1 or 2 stars. It was dull. Leila's personality was boring to me. I couldn't care for her. Her lack of caring for the people around her made me care less for who she was. Each thought she had about people wasn't relatable. I understood where she was coming from, but it felt like she was being the extreme version of that person. I didn't like it, so I put the book down for a while.
Finally I picked it up again. Part of me wanted to like the book. The plot was unique. I wanted to see how Lottie executed the idea. It felt very original to me. I had to know what happened to Leila in the end, as I had already begun to form questions about how much she could get away with. This part of the book I'd rate either 3-4 stars. It hooked me enough to continue reading, but not in the way where all I thought about was the book.
