I read the next book in this series and really enjoyed it so I was curious about this one. This one is just fine. I don't really feel any kind of connection to these characters or understand their personalities at all. It's kind of ironic that it's about a demisexual* character (a sexuality where you only feel sexual attraction to people if you have a connection with them) when I did not see any connection at all.

*Lyle says he's not sure if he's demi at the end of this, but in the next book he does say he's demi, so I'm counting it
