It seems to blur the lines between science and faith which may be a reflection of its antiquated context in which many scientists were still very pious men or the science element may just be a basis for the actual authorial intent of mankind's disillusionment with the notion of god. Victor Frankenstein ticks all the boxes of Aristotlean hero. He suffers the consequences of a fatal flaw and experiences catharsis at the end. Very interesting!
