Drop, Cover, and Hold On by Jasmine Guillory

I'm sorry but this one was a complete waste of my life. Jeepers! I know her full length novels are really popular, so I am assuming she just isn't that great of a short-story teller, which is fine. Not everyone can write short stories. But like, this author is super long-winded for absolutely no reason at all. For the first almost 15% of the story, the FMC is standing outside of a bakery telling herself not to go in, for a stupid reason, and then goes in anyways. THANK GOD THOUGH OR SHE WOULD HAVE DIED. *insert massive eye roll here* The next 30% is them dealing with stuff and things, moaning over pastries, yadda yadda. BUT THEN "you hate me!" and "no, I love you!" happens for another 30% of the story. Then another 15% of filler, which is their first kiss and her reading text messages from her friends and family. The last 10% is mediocre banging. ANYWAYS, I spent more time on this review than it took to power read through this bullshit story. I should have DNF'd, but I had already put it in my reading tracker spreadsheet BECAUSE I HAD HIGH HOPES FOR THIS. Ugh.
