A woman does in fact have sex with a merman and that is all I expected. So expectations were met, I guess? But dang, I didn't like this book. The "humour" was not for me. Some of it just annoyed me to no end. The main character was not likeable and I can not for the life of me discern if that was intentional or not. I felt no empathy for her. I felt no sympathy. Reading it felt like watching a train wreck into another train that had wrecked into a train, that had wrecked into another train. I couldn't stop because I wanted to see how absurd, gross, and infuriating it got.
