I understand the impact this book had when it was published. But now, I find it just okay? While a bit difficult to get into at first, I enjoy the world building and political intrigue in this book. But we're more of an observer of the main character than that we can really feel what he feels. He's not relatable and because of some of the decisions he makes, unlikeable. There are also some very sexist and fatphobic things in this book, alongside with some situations that border on white saviourism, orientalism and racism. Overall I liked the story, but I won't be continuing the series.
Graphic: Death, Fatphobia, and Sexism
Moderate: Sexism
Minor: Racism and Xenophobia
