I remember when this book came out when I was young but at the time I wasn't ready to take on the daunting task of such a large book. I'm glad I waited until now. I can appreciate the storytelling more as an adult. I also chose to listen to the audiobook form which is another help. I wouldn't have known how many of the words or names are pronounced. I know that many people were let down by the film adaptation, and I can't wait to join their ranks! All in all, it is a solid fantasy story with dragons, elves, and magic. Add in that the author was in his teens when he wrote it, its incredible! There are plenty of authors now that can't put together a story with good writing *cough cough* collen hoover *cough cough*
