Once More from the Top by Emily Layden

3.0

This book had a lot going on. Not necessarily in a bad way, but it was a lot and hard to keep track of everything at times and I did wish that it was a little more focused. I think that with some refinement it would have been easier to stay engaged because at times I felt my mind wandering. I also struggled a little connecting with the main character, I just didn’t and I’m not entirely sure why. I didn’t dislike her, I just didn’t feel any connection to her. I did enjoy the pacing though, it was rather nice and wasn’t too fast or too slow, just right. I found the reveals at the end to be well done and not what I expected.

Thank you to the publisher for sending me a copy of this one. All thoughts are my own.
