Chasing Darkness by Colee Firman

5.0

Wow ... sometimes I am amazed by author's imaginations and these worlds they create. Even though Greystone is technically just another plane of Earth, it's might as well be a different world. This book kept me constantly guessing, I really had no idea where things were going to go. So much action and drama and tragedy.

Somewhere in the start I got a little frustrated ... with Addy or the author (or both). Addy's flip-floppingness! When it was somewhat explained (boy, very little free-will for Addy's emotions here, she'd constantly been manipulated), that was a little too convenient.

I have also struggled a bit with all the characters, trying to remember who is who and the connections and such (through all three books thus far). That might be on me some though, rushing through the reading because I wanted to know what was going to happen.

As some storylines came together here, and things were revealed ... wow, it did tug on the emotions! I must admit to a little flip-flopping myself in MY feelings toward some of the characters (Oh, he's great ... what a jerk ... I can NOT believe him ... back to feeling fondness).

Once again, the author wraps up this one story-arch, but leaves us hanging as to what is going to happen next. At least I didn't start this series until it was complete. Now just debating on whether to buy the next books, or hold out a couple of weeks and then borrow them as next month's Prime pick (as they are on Unlimited and the Kindle Lending Library).
