Anne of the Island by L.M. Montgomery
5.0
Oh, I absolutely adore Anne of the Island! It’s one of those books that just feels like a warm hug. Watching Anne finally leave Avonlea for Redmond and step into this new phase of her life is both exciting and bittersweet. The friendships, the new experiences, and of course, the slow burn of that romance—perfection!
One of my favorite parts? Little Davey! He’s such a delightfully mischievous addition, and his questions crack me up. I love how he’s constantly testing Marilla’s patience while also sneaking his way into everyone’s hearts.
And then there’s Anne and Gilbert. Swoon. The way their relationship evolves in this book is just chef’s kiss. I wanted to shake Anne a few times for being so stubborn, but honestly, her journey toward realizing her true feelings is what makes it so satisfying.
Five stars? More like infinity stars. This book has everything—laughter, love, and those heartwarming little moments that make L.M. Montgomery’s writing so special. If you haven’t read it yet, what are you waiting for?
