Japanese Lit is slowly becoming my favorite genre and I'm thrilled to have found this author. I did read this for class but it is a gorgeous set of stories that explores womanhood and the relationship to maternity and female relationships, as well as morality surrounding donor-born children. I've read memoirs from trans-racial adoptees and noticed some parallels in this story as well and I'll definitely be looking for similar books in the future.
