Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk
4.0
The first rule of Fight Club is don't talk about Fight Club
... But if everyone had followed that rule I wouldn't know how much of an amazing novel it is!
The writing is refreshingly poetic for a novel with such violent themes and, even though I knew the film and the "twist" I was instantly hooked always wanting to find out the next moment in the narrator's story.
Graphic? Sometimes but not in an off-putting way. It's raw and its real and its human. It calls to that bit of me, of us all I think, who sometimes just want to feel and be known for a bit more.
A triumph!
