The Art of Prophecy by Wesley Chu

3.0

An Asian inspired epic fantasy that takes the chosen one trope and mixes it up

This was an overall enjoyable read but I found that the pacing was slightly off, there was some definite dragging moments half way through but it picked back up towards the end

I really liked that one of the MCs was older in age and it definitely didn’t stop her from doing what she wanted to do. In addition to this, the portrayal of female characters was executed very well with each one feeling unique and layered

This definitely felt like an introductory book to the series, you can just tell this world/series has so much more to offer and it has made me excited for The Art of Destiny

I’m not usually a fan of battle / action scenes as sometimes I have difficulty imaging what’s happening, definitely not the case here. Although it’s obviously a book, these certain scenes had a cinematic feel to them and they were so much fun to read
