This was so fun! Lift is such a great character that has so much life and heart. Wyndell feels like a begrudging caretaker for her, so their dynamic continues to be a joy to read. Of course a novella from Sanderson to address a tiny plot hole ends up becoming a short book, but he did tell an interesting and compelling story in the short time he had. Lift goes though real, genuine character growth and it was the first time I felt like a spren went through some growth as well.

When starting this short book I thought for sure the story would be unnecessary, but it ended up being a really satisfying continuation of the series and there is a story here- that I believe- needed to be told.
