Batman Day Special Edition #1 by Tom King
3.0
This special edition features an interesting first chapter from ‘I am Bane’, one of the volumes in Batman #16, plus some fun pages featuring the awesome Harley Quinn at the beginning and end to celebrate 25 years.
The main chapter was pretty interesting and was a nice set up for the Bane story arc, it was clear just how much Bruce Wayne fears him. It also had a few fun moments at a Bat-burger diner with the lads of the Bat family, a short cameo from Catwoman and a banging cliffhanger.
My favourite parts though were the bits with Harley before and after as she breaks the 4th wall while trying to convince us to buy and read her own comics instead of the lame Batman’s. She had me sold!
Finally there’s some cool special edition cover artwork at the end featuring Harley, paying homage to some of the iconic Batman covers over the years. Pretty fun, pretty cool!
