As a cat sebaSTAN (sorry), I was instantly endeared by this. It contains many of her greatest hits, including but not limited to: IDIOTS to lovers, hurt/comfort (said comfort provided by a soft grump), food as a love language, and sweet sweet domesticity. It’s not long at all, but it wasted no time making me fall in love with the story. Why was I getting misty eyed over these characters when I hardly knew them??? That’s just the power of a cat seb high, baby! And it was perfect while I waiting in the airport all day. Apparently cat is so powerful that she can make even a dozen flight delays bearable. Now that’s talent!

I will say I wish it was a little bit longer, but I also think this felt like it laid the foundation for her most recent mid century novels, so I’m glad we got to see how some of these concepts became more fleshed out in full length novels.
