Bread of Angels is the first book I have read by Tessa Afshar; I am happy to say that she is now one of my favorite authors.

Things I really liked about the book:
- it was not a romance novel but had a small romance in the last few chapters of the book, which I really enjoyed
- the chapters are fairly short, making it easier to not have to stop reading in the middle of a chapter
- it is evident that the author poured a great amount of research into the book, making it extremely historically and biblically accurate. So accurate that I even learned a few things about Lydia and her story that I had not previously “picked up on” when reading in Acts.

Overall, I’m giving the book 4 stars. I highly recommend this book and its author to all Biblical fiction nerds (like me) out there. Be ready to get to know Lydia personally and read a fictional, yet plausible backstory to her life. Enjoy and God bless :).
