Maybe You Should Talk to Someone by Lori Gottlieb
5.0
This book was so raw, real, and transformative. I really enjoyed how the author talked about both her own story but also her patients' stories. Each of her patients was so different, and they all had struggles and humanity just like the rest of us. Reading as Lori helped her patients work through their demons and accept the reality of the world was both fascinating and humbling. Having been in therapy consistently for the past few years, what Lori spoke of felt so true to my own experience, and so illuminating. Lori's openness about her therapy with Wendell and how he helped her take ownership of her life resonated with me. So much of this book made me both cry and feel intense joy, because I saw myself and so many people I love reflected in the pages, and it lifted my spirits a lot.
