This book was so perfectly balanced. It was funny and light but emotional and real. The thing is, as I was listening to it and the MC kept saying she felt like a f*** up because she was single and without children at 40+, I kept thinking, “well, I am 40+, am married with children and still feel like a f*** up.” Well later on all her friends are listening to her podcast and relating to her and I was like, “yes! We all feel like f*** ups.”
Being an adult is the pits. We all probably thought by 40 we’d have the hang of it but honestly, I always think I’m doing worst except that now the consequences are more dire. Now it’s not just my life I am ruining but like my children’s. And they are brand new so ruining their life this early on would be quite terrible.
Anyway, according to this book, we are all just doing the best we can with the resources we have. And kids are like resilient or whatever. Growing up with me will probably make my kids funny.
