The Killer Inside Me by Jim Thompson
4.0
This was a re-read and I still love "the dimestore Dostoevsky's" first person account of a small-town deputy sheriff who conceals a brilliant, stone cold sadistic killer beneath his folksy, proverb-quoting exterior. I just wish the writer had omitted the obvious psychological backstory and let there be more loose ends.
