Worldbuilding:
This final instalment starts where the previous book ended, and it really sets the tone for the rest of the story! Oh, but wait, there is something I actually nearly forgot! Nat gives us a quick recap at the start, you know, in case you forgot something important. I love it when authors do this!! I read so many series, and sometimes it just gets a little jumbled. So yeah, big thanks, Kel!
Storylines and conversations all made perfect sense and scenes and environments were clear and well detailed.
Character development:
Piper has taken up the mantle of Queen of New Chicago, and now she has to deal with what that means, some good things, but mostly just really, really nasty stuff and politics. With the introduction of Lorcan, she's facing the worst threat yet, and some surprises along the way will not make this any easier for her.
Ronan, our beloved Atman, has changed so much over the series. While he is showing a softer side lately, dare to threaten what he considers his, and you'll see why he is the Harvester. When Lorcan shows up, he needs to deal with his past mistake and protect those he loves, or he might just end the world(s).
And then we have Bree, Nathalie, Sasha, Sienna, and so many, many more. I just love these characters; they're all so alive and well fleshed out! I'm hoping we're getting more series set in this world, as I want to know how it goes for all of them!
Pacing and flow:
From start till finish, this is a rock-solid instalment, never too much and never too slow. Such amazing writing!
The book:
The book was well written with no (noticeable) errors. There are sexual scenes described (if that is important to you).
The book has 343 pages, spread over 39 chapters, and is told from multiple points of view, though Piper's first and foremost.
Final thoughts:
I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book, and all in all, I took my sweet time reading it, enjoying every moment. It was such a great series. I highly recommend it! This last book really brought everything together and made it bump up from really good to one of my favourite series.
