A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J. Maas

4.0

I'm somewhere between four and five stars I think. For most of this book I had a similar opinion to the other ACOTAR books, that the plot was suffering a little due to so much focus on the characters (I'm not against lot's of character work in fantasy obvs but when trying to build an epic fantasy, for my taste I think it needed to be a little balanced with the plot/worldbuilding). I also thought it was moving slower than it needed to, though I didn't personally mind, it was more of an observation. That all being said, I thought the writing in this was the strongest yet of this series and Nesta's journey was complex and very well developed. We did spend so much attention on her and Cassian that I missed the others (Cas could have had more fun times hanging out with them couldn't he? *insert puppy eyes here*). And my God Part Four... left me speechless, to say the least. By the end, I was sobbing, even though I kinda knew how it ended because I'd seen things floating around the internet. So it might be my fave ACOTAR book, but by no means of Sarah's books in general.
