WOW!! even better than the first one!! a lot more plot vs the world building of ember. 500 pages but still a quick read!! definitely did not feel that long. i think the main thing i love about this book was that the twists were not super obvious!! there arent a bunch of them but its not one of those books where youre waiting forever for the idiot protagonist to figure out whats right in front of them. you actually discover things with laia! i feel lile the only reason i cant give this one 5 stars is because im really not a love triangle person. its just not my thing but i can see and appreciate that it was necessary for this particular plot.
