The Two Kings by Stephanie Hudson
4.0
This is the second book of the Afterlife series, and I must say that it was... different.
The book continues on with the relationship between Dominic Draven (half demon/angel King) and Catherine "Keira" Williams (the "Chosen One", as we still haven't figured out in this book exactly what that exactly is other than being the ordained mate by the Gods for Dominic). We get more into their courtship and in spite of being "extraordinary" in their significant roles on Earth, go through the same relationship problems every other couple go through.
We are introduced to a few new characters and a few feelings start to reveal themselves from the other characters surrounding their relationship. This adds to the supernatural element of Keira's recurring nightmares about the mysterious Vampire King, Lucious.
While I enjoyed the story immensely, Keira got on my nerves a little but with her inability to look out for her own safety and trust Dominic for at least knowing a little more about the supernatural world than she does. Dominic was a little over the top with his jealousy and was very insecure considering the fact that he was a King and such a petty thing as jealousy of a mortal man seemed out of place and quite frankly, a little ridiculous.
This ended with a cliffhanger and was a good segway into the next book. So, on to Book Three I go!
Happy reading!
