Audubon, on the Wings of the World by Fabien Grolleau

3.0

Disappointing in terms of representing Audubon as a problematic person who was also good at art. Author describes his racism as a "foible." Author chose NOT to show him as a slave owner. Text describes some plantation owner/slave owner as "a kind man." I think a fair representation of him as a flawed person who produced great art would have been more interesting. In this case I kept getting frustrated with the outdated way his problems were glossed over by the authors.
