Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo

4.0

Overall, it had the ending I expected. It had some twists I didn't like, some I found ridiculous. But it also made my heart ache, hold my breath, and fight the urge to peak to make sure it all ended okay.

I'm glad I read them all. I'm glad my heart bleeds for the Darkling, I'm glad my heart beats for Nikolai. The books wouldn't have been worth reading if those two hadn't been part of the stories.

I do think this, and the other two books, suffer from the POV. There's a of inner dialog that doesn't really bring much to the table. It's just more of the same insecure ramblings that we grew so familiar with in the first book.
