I really enjoyed the characters and the social commentary on racial justice, but I felt like I wanted the magical part of the world be built upon more. There’s like no mention of magic anywhere else outside of their home, other than sirens and eloko, until the very end. Where is everybody else? How does the rest of the world look like? Also, I’m not a big fan of books in a highschool setting, especially with highschool romance so the book didn’t really do it for me.
