I was right about the crocodiles being a metaphor for queer people! One thing about me, I’m never gonna miss a metaphor! I enjoyed the “queer coming of age” aspects but I found the crocodile vignettes to be a little hard to read and preferred to spend time with Lazi and the other characters. Even in the 1990s, the queer stereotype of “lesbians moving in together after the first date” still exists, which made me chuckle a little bit.
