3.0

This story had promise but was overwhelmed with descriptions. Even the spicy scenes were drowning in adjectives. Sometimes we need to know just a little less in order for our imaginations to fill in the gaps. Less is more really is a thing.

Aside from the overused descriptors, this story felt unfocused. There were so many characters and creatures and goals, it was unclear what the issue and the fix really were. Relationships also felt a little unclear. Do we like this character or distrust them? Some we never fully know.
I’m giving this 3 stars because the beginning of the book was strong and intriguing but I will probably not read anymore from this series.
