i had this read to me in like first grade when it originally came out and it was definitely my favorite book for a solid like 2 years or something. i wanted to reread it since dreamworks just dropped an animated movie adaptation and i wanted to remember the original story when watching the film.

i mainly reread this while movies played at the historical movie theater i volunteer at and it was probably the best reading experience i've ever had. something about reading a cozy and wholesome little children's book and eating popcorn and drinking soda in the volunteer lounge was so lovely.

as for the story, it was absolutely phenomenal. it's literally a perfect book and you need to read it if you loved the movie. seeing a robot help the animals around her was just so nice to read.

i remember getting the second book read to me when it came out and i want to reread it so badly now. plus a third installment of the series dropped last year and i have that book so i think i just need to binge the series, honestly.
