Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt
5.0
I haven't loved an animal narrator this much since Charlotte in Charlotte's Web. And honestly, Marcellus the Giant Pacific Octopus shares many of Charlotte's characteristics - he is brilliant, he can read, and he sneaks around at night in order to be the catalyst for some wonderful plot twists. The story did get a tiny bit frustrating toward the end when the reader can foresee the outcome but the main characters have not yet figured it out, but overall it's a charming novel.
