WOW, this book was just wow!
I literally could not put this book down, I finished it in a day because I was so engrossed in the story that when I wasn't reading it I was thinking about it. Zanders is the typical playboy and sometimes that is overdone for me and I am not for it but I was obsessed with this man within the first three or four chapters. His alpha male, cocky attitude drew me in because even though he was portrayed as the playboy who wouldn't settle down he was obsessed with Stevie so early that I fell in love with both of them. I just love a boy obsessed let's be real!
They were the perfect counterparts for each other. The way they pushed and challenged each other was just so fun to read. Zander loving Stevie through her insecurities just made my heart melt because he gave her what she needed. And in the same way, she was there for him through his issues in the past and loved him as best as she could through that rough patch when it started to play into their relationship.
Stevie was such an amazing FMC. I think that sometimes when the FMC is curvy she is either portrayed as OVER THE TOP confident or a meek little mouse who needs a man to feel like she has a place in this world and that in some cases is unrealistic. I think that Stevie's insecurity battle being something that fluctuated day to day was super inspiring because it was so real. And even when she tried to fake her confidence Zander saw through that and made sure she knew how amazing she was to him. I just love them both so much and their growth together as well as separate characters were just so nice to see.
I think the mental health representation in this book was very well done, you see a number of different issues as well as seeing them handled in a number of different ways. While discussing this book with someone they pointed out that this book really highlights the pressure of being a pro-athlete and the potential mental health struggles that come along with it and I thought that was refreshing to see instead of just continuing the idea that they are fine and living their best life, that the pressure does not bother them, as we see in some books.
The spice in this book was also hot as sin!! Praise kinks were truly activated here
