3.5

  • an impactful and powerful story about grief, with quite a few flaws that limit the story’s potential. is a written version of a film by the same name and the same author/filmmaker.
  • pros: queer indigenous romance, realistic portrayal of grief and of reservations,
  • cons: main character’s development was rushed & out of proportion at times, little to no emotional pay off from the book’s dark themes, no character arc for our romantic pair, cheating trope.
