Devil May Care by Sebastian Faulks

Did not finish book. Stopped at 18%.
DNF. The author makes an effort to imitate Ian Fleming's style, and manages to highlight a lot of the things that I never liked about Fleming's style in the first place, with a few extra things to dislike as well. (I feel like there are more conspicuous references to the historical context than a genuine Fleming would have, but that might just be me noticing it more because I know the novel was written decades after it's set.) I gave it fifty pages to win me over, and it mostly just succeeded in annoying me. I'm not in the least curious about where the plot is going, and I don't care what happens to any of the characters.
