The Diving Pool: Three Novellas by Yōko Ogawa

the diving pool is a collection of three novellas. whilst reading, i had a different reaction towards each one.

the first part (the diving pool) was my favorite. it held the most interesting protagonist, and the vocabulary used was vivid and descriptive; everything i expected going into another yōko ogawa book. it was the most memorable out of all the storylines. the second part (pregnancy diary) was interesting enough in the beginning. however, the ending fell flat for me. i kept reading, eager to reach the finale and see what becomes of the protagonists, but the story ended abruptly. the third part (dormitory) was just there? nothing about it was intriguing; it was blander than white bread.
